Admissions
Why GFIS:
Academic excellence is the cornerstone of GFIS education. However the goal of intellectual growth goes far beyond the ability to perform well on standardized tests. Development of a well-rounded scholar requires a love of learning, healthy curiosity and a disciplined approach to mastering intellectual challenges. Love of Learning
From the junior grades to the Higher Grades, students are taught by faculty members whose love for their subject areas is infectious. Small classes mean that lessons can be interactive rather than lecture-driven, so students don’t just absorb ideas; they question them, define them in their own terms, and relate to them through their own experiences. Teachers become colleagues – role models in a dynamic world where people never stop learning.
Curiosity
Whether they’re working on a new computer program or writing an essay, each student’s curiosity is an asset in the drive to master subjects. Rather than being asked to sit quietly and absorb the “right answers,” students are encouraged to ask questions and explore ideas. At every grade level, lively curiosity is nurtured as an essential tool in building knowledge and understanding.
Discipline
The academic workload at “GFIS” demands effective study/research skills and time-management abilities that are developed steadily throughout each student’s career. The School sets very high expectations from student’s conduct, and works consistently and tirelessly to achieve them.
Broad and Liberal Education
GFIS, in its effort to provide a broad and liberal education for its students, organizes educational and recreational trips. Students are required to visit archaeological sites and museums and study the history of these places. Group visits to various local manufacturing concerns and other institutions are organized to enable students to acquire practical experience.
The care and personal attention that a teacher in GFIS bestows upon the student is indeed second only to a parent.
In sum, admitting your ward in GFIS is a safest bet in giving him/her, the best opportunity to emerge head and shoulders above peers in a highly competitive world.
